The 2014 Indian Open professional world ranking snooker tournament will be held in Mumbai from Oct 13-17 with the qualifying competition in England in August to decide the 64 players.

According to a Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI), India has been allotted six wildcard entries who will be decided over four qualifying tournaments.

The Indian Open, which was first held in New Delhi last year, will be immediately followed by the IBSF World Snooker Championship in Bangalore from Nov 19-30 at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium.

On the sidelines of the World Championship, the elections of the International Billiards and Snooker Federation will also be held.

The BSFI also envisaged a franchise-based Indian Pool and Snooker League. "This league will provide a platform for players at the grass-root level to showcase their talent and grow," a release said Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Capt. P.V.K. Mohan was unanimously re-elected president of the BSFI at its AGM here Saturday.

Bholu Mehta, Rajan Khinvasra, K. Ranjan and Kush Bharghava were elected as vice-presidents while S. Balasubramaniam will continue as the secretary and M.C. Uthappa will be the treasurer.
