An Indian-Canadian has been arrested and charged with murdering another Indian-origin man in Canada, a media report said.
Randeep Singh Match was charged by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) with murdering Tarsem 'Shane' Singh Dhaliwal, The Province online reported Thursday.
Dhaliwal's family reported him missing Jan 19 and the 35-year-old's body was found two days later in a vehicle in Surrey in the province of British Columbia.
"As a result of the dedication and commitment displayed by the IHIT investigators, 33-year-old Randeep Singh Match has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder," said IHIT spokesperson Jennifer Pound.
She said evidence led investigators to believe that "Dhaliwal met with foul play" and IHIT took over the case.
"The IHIT has been working diligently on the homicide of Tarsem Singh Dhaliwal since his body was located in a vehicle Jan 21, 2014," said Pound.
