Indian U-16 boys qualify for Asian basketball

The India Under-16 basketball team cruised into the third FIBA Asia Championship to be held in Tehran from Sep 25 to Oct 4 by winning all their three qualifying matches in the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) qualifiers here.

Indian boys started their campaign by winning against Maldives 95-50. They then followed it up by a scintillating performance against Nepal winning 92-22 and finally secured the berth defeating host Bangladesh in their final match on Friday 103-59.

The team is coached by Raghavendra Singh Gour and Tirtesh Guha.
