India's Under-19 women's football team, which arrived here Monday to play in the AFC qualifying tournament, need to acclimatise fast to the weather conditions, chief coach Priya P.V. felt.

"The mercury has dipped to almost 15 degrees and chances stay it may get colder as we progress in the tournament. The untimely rain has come as a big challenge," Priya said.

Even as the weather forecast said it would be sunny in the coming days, the locals, nevertheless, even went to the extent of saying that "it may snow in the next seven days".

"It doesn't rain at this time of the year. But when it does, it is normally followed by snowfall," an official from the Jordan Football Federation quipped.

India have been clubbed with hosts Jordan, Uzbekistan and Lebanon in Group A and will begin their campaign against Uzbekistan Wednesday. As per AFC regulations, only the group topper move onto the Finals, to be played next year in China.

The Indian squad will have their first practice session Tuesday.
