A 20-member Indian youth delegation visited South Korea from Aug 6 to Aug 17 under a bilateral youth exchange programme to enhance people-to-people contact between the two countries, the Indian embassy here said Tuesday.

The delegation, comprising National Youth Awardees, youth leaders, cultural artists, young working professionals and students, participated in cultural exchange activities like interactions with the local youth, visits to cultural programmes and historical sites. The visit was organised under the Indo-Korea Youth Exchange Programme.

The delegation, led by director in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Thanglemlian, also visited the National Assembly of Korea and facilities of prominent business firms like POSCO, Hyundai and Samsung, the embassy said in a statement.

The visit was organised under an MOU signed between the Indian ministry of youth affairs and sports, and Republic of Korea's (ROK) ministry of gender equality and family, which envisages annual exchange of youth delegations.

The delegation members also participated in the Independence Day celebrations organised by the Indian Embassy in South Korea, where talented Indian youngsters enthralled the 400-strong audience through their cultural performances.
