Actor Daniel Craig was injured on the set of his latest James Bond movie "Spectre", and underwent a "minor procedure" after spraining his knee.

"During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22 at Pinewood," a representative for the 47-year-old star said in a statement, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"Spectre" started filming in Britain last December before moving to new locations in Rome and Mexico. Directed by Sam Mendes, it will hit US screens on November 6 this year. Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, and Ralph Fiennes are among the returning cast.

In the film, a cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind "Spectre."
