The Hindu Sena, a lesser known group, on Monday claimed responsibility for an ink attack on Jammu and Kashmir legislator Engineer Rashid here.
Police have detained two suspects following the incident outside the Press Club where Rashid had earlier addressed the media on a fire bombing of a truck in Udhampur that left its cleaner dead.
The protesters who smeared ink on Rashid's face raised slogans against him for allegedly insulting the cow, which is revered by Hindus.
Rashid was beaten up by Bhartiya Janta Party legislators this month in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly for hosting a beef party.
