New Delhi, April 20 (IANS) Pakistan's champion leg spinner Mushtaq Ahmed, now a bowling consultant with the Delhi Daredevils, feels the Indian Premier League (IPL) is a good test for young cricketer's temperament.

Mushtaq, who has been spending a lot of time with youngsters at the Kotla nets, feels the pressure and the hype of IPL matches is a big test for junior cricketers.

Unlike other former cricketers, Mushtaq strongly feels that IPL is good for budding cricketers.

"IPL is good for youngsters, because it tests their temperament. Nothing better to test a young cricketer's temperament in front of packed stadiums and during exciting finishes," said Mushtaq.

The 42-year-old, who is England's spin bowling coach, has been busy at the nets and Saturday was seen giving throw-downs to the batsmen.

Mushtaq, who plotted India's downfall during the home Test series against England, said IPL can be a good launchpad for youngsters looking to play international cricket.

"I think IPL can be a good launchpad for junior cricketers. If they handle the pressure in IPL, then international cricket becomes easy for them. The competition level in the IPL is very high and it is helping youngsters as well," he said.
