It was "Veer-Zaara" all over again at the Eden Gardens here Wednesday with Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan and Preity Zinta, owners of Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings X1 Punjab, cheering their teams on as they battled it in the Qualifier 1 of the seventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).
Ecstatic to see their home team take on the Punjab squad, fans of the Knights went wild to see the popular onscreen star-pair of the 2004 romantic drama "Veer-Zaara" cheer their respective teams on.
Shahrukh took to the microblogging site earlier in the day and set the tone for the team.
"The goal is set & our mission is true. The Knights will fight in sun or rain. Oh Kolkata we will always come for u.KKR," he tweeted.

SRK loyalists fittingly dubbed the game as the 'Veer Zaara' match.
"The Veer-Zaara match is well balanced as of now. Can it have a bollywood end? Like a super over or something?," tweeted one.
Another said, "Shahrukh Khan for Kolkata, Preity Zinta for Punjab, it is all Veer Zaara in the #IPL today."
