Iran will sell 32 tonnes of heavy water produced in its Arak Reactor to the US, a senior official said on Saturday.
Senior Iranian nuclear negotiator Abbas Araqchi said the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) and a US company have signed an agreement on Friday to sell the heavy water.
Araqchi said this on the sidelines of a joint commission meeting between Iran and the P5+1 group, namely Britain, China, France, Russia, the US, and Germany, Xinhua reported.
The agreement, signed following three months of negotiations, is worth $8.6 million and will be delivered to the US next week, according to the report.
The transaction of the heavy water is a part of the nuclear agreement signed last July between Iran and the P5+1 group.
Iran has also agreed to ship its supply of enriched uranium to Russia.
