Israel's President Shimon Peres Friday said his country neither sees Iran as a common enemy nor wants to have war with it.

"For us, Iran is not a common enemy. We don't want to fight," Xinhua quoted Peres as telling the ongoing annual meeting here of the World Economic Forum.

He expressed willingness to have peace talks with Iran, whose President Hassan Rouhani expressed a similar attitude a day earlier, saying that Iran was willing to establish peaceful and normal relations with all countries.

Meanwhile, the Israeli president condemned Iran's support for the Syrian government, which he deemed as the cause of turmoil in that country.

Talking about how to reshape the world, Peres emphasised the importance of the youth, saying that "the youth of the Arab world are the solution to the Arab problems".
