Iran will not talk with the US on global and regional issues after the nuclear deal, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday.
"We agreed for talks with the US only on (Iran's) nuclear issue for specific reasons... We have not allowed Iranian officials to negotiate with the US in other areas and we will not talk with them," Xinhua quoted Khamenei as saying.
The comments by Khamenei came against the backdrop of President Hassan Rouhani's remarks on Tuesday that Iran was ready to talk with any country and powers, including the US, for peace in Syria.
Negotiations with the US is "a tool for influence and imposing of their wills" on Iran, the supreme leader said.
