Iran's national football has been ranked the third highest Asian team in the latest FIFA rankings released Sunday.
Iran stands on 52 with 601 points and moved up a place in Asia after South Korea moved down a place to fourth among the Asian teams, reports Xinhua.
Iran qualified for the 2014 World Cup after beating South Korea 1-0 in Ulsan in June.
The top 12 of the world rankings remain unchanged, with Spain leading the way ahead of Germany, Colombia, Argentina and the Netherlands. Brazil holds the nirth spot.
