Visiting Iraqi President Fuad Masoum has said that Polish enterprises were welcome in Iraq and his country needed partners to rebuild its infrastructure.
"We thank Poland for its part in the reconstruction of Iraq, for its help in fighting terrorism from our country," Xinhua news agency quoted Masoum as saying at a joint press conference on Monday after meeting with Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda.
Masoum, on a two-day visit to Poland, said Polish soldiers had helped in the fight against the Islamic State.
"They (Polish troops) have made a huge sacrifice. You have made a major contribution to the struggle against the Islamic State. Iraq has gone through a very difficult time, but we have managed to succeed in this struggle."
The bilateral trade between Poland and Iraq rose 40 per cent year on year in the first seven months of 2017, according to the Polish President's top aide Krzysztof Szczerski.
Two-way trade stood at $500 million in 2016, official data showed.
