Bangladesh Army on Saturday confirmed that the Islamic State terrorists who laid siege to a Dhaka cafe late on Friday killed at least 20 hostages, including many foreigners.
The army said it had rescued 13 hostages, including one Japanese and two Sri Lankan nationals.
Bangladeshi security forces on Saturday morning ended the 12-hour long siege at the Holey Artisan Bakery in the high-security Gulshan diplomatic zone, killing six terrorist and captured one alive, Xinhua news agency reported.
