Former Brazil midfielder and Indian Super League (ISL) star Elano has agreed to a three-month contract with his former club Santos.
According to Brazilian sports news portal Lancenet, the 33-year-old will be tied to the eight-time Brazilian champions until the end of the Sao Paulo state championship in April, reports Xinhua.
It is understood Santos will have the option of extending the former Manchester City player's contract.
Elano had been a free agent after ending a successful spell with ISL outfit Chennaiyin FC in December.
He was the leading scorer in the inaugural edition of the competition with eight goals, despite missing more than a third of the season with a calf injury.
It is understood Elano's friend Robinho, currently on loan at Santos from AC Milan, was influential in the playmaker's return.
Capped 50 times for Brazil, Elano has won five trophies in two separate spells at Santos.
