An Italian national was on Monday shot dead by unidentified assailants in Bangladesh capital Dhaka, police said.
Abdul Ahad, a senior Dhaka Metropolitan Police official, told journalists that "miscreants shot an Italian national named Travela Ceasar to death at about 7.00 p.m. (local time) on Monday."
Ceasar, 50, who was shot in the back while jogging, had been working for an international organization, he said.
He could give further details immediately, Xinhua news agency reported.
