ITC Infotech on Friday announced that it will hold a two-day hackathon around Internet of Things (IoT) here on July 4-5.
"The hackathon in our campus will be part of our annual technology conference platform 'iTech2015' to foster innovation," the IT services and solutions subsidiary of ITC Ltd said in a statement here.
The IoT is a network of devices embedded with electronics, software and sensors and inter-connected to provide greater value and services on internet.
"The mega event will give an opportunity to IoT start-ups, professionals, developers and students to participate, present solutions to business users and validate ideas through live simulations of real business scenario," Infotech chief executive Sushma Rajagopalan said.
The hackathon will also hold a 30-hour prototype building contest at the venue using IoT kits provided by the company.
"We will provide intellectual capital for mentoring budding innovators and provide tools to develop ideas to prototypes using disruptive technology," said Rajagopalan.
Winners and runners-up will be awarded Rs.2 lakh and Rs.1 lakh in cash.
