After four days of rain and snow, bright sunshine greeted Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday although the minimum temperature dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius at the ski resort of Gulmarg, the Met Office has said.
"Night's lowest temperature dropped to minus 12 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg, which was the lowest recorded anywhere in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday," an official of the Meteorological Department told IANS.
After four days of inclement weather, bright sunshine brought relief to people in the state.
"Weather is likely to remain dry in the state during the next 48 hours till Tuesday," the official said.
"The minimum temperature was minus 0.2 degree Celsius in Srinagar and minus 2.3 degree in Pahalgam," according to the weather office.

Leh and Kargil towns of the Ladakh region recorded the minimum temperatures of minus 5.7 degrees Celsius and minus 7.6 degrees.
"The minimum temperature was 8.4 degrees Celsius in Jammu city while it was 5.1 degrees in Katra, a tad above the freezing point at 0.2 in Batote, 7.2 degrees in Banihal and minus 1.2 in Bhaderwah town on Sunday," the official added.
