Chinese movie star Jackie Chan's son Jaycee Chan was Friday released after serving a six-month jail term.

On Aug 14, 2014, Beijing police arrested Jaycee and Taiwanese actor Ko Chen-tung, both tested positive for marijuana and admitted to have used the drug, Xinhua reported.

Police discovered 117.7 grams of marijuana in Jaycee's house.

Ko was released after 14 days of detention.

Jaycee was sentenced to six months in prison and fined 2,000 yuan ($326) for drug offences by the Dongcheng District People's Court in Beijing Jan 9. However, the time he had already served was taken into account.

Jackie Chan had apologised in public for Jaycee's offences. He said Jaycee will learn from his mistakes.
