The 7th Jagran Film Festival will feature short films directed by actress Aarti Chabria and veteran director Vinod Pande in the International Competition section alongside short films from 30 countries.
Aarti's directorial debut "Mumbai Varanasi Express", starring Darshan Jariwala, will be the opening film of the section. Pande's take on communal harmony, "Panaah" will also compete along with other films, read a statement.
This special section will present a selection of 46 short films from 30 countries. The participating countries include Russia, France, Britain, US, Spain, Iran, Belgium, Czech Republic, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Macedonia, Brazil and Mexico.
The themes range from action to comedy to drama to mystery and much more.
At the festival, beginning from September 26, each day around six to seven shorts would be screened.
The jury is headed by veteran film director Jahnu Barua. Actors Rajit Kapur and Elena Fernandes also help to pick the Best Short Film. The awards in this category would be presented on September 30 here.
