British stuntman Mark Sutton, who thrilled billions of viewers around the world by jumping out of a helicopter as James Bond during the 2012 London Olympics opening ceremony, has died in an accident. He was 41.
Sutton died when a plane wing-diving stunt went wrong in Martigny, Switzerland Wednesday, reports contactmusic.com.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the accident, but it is believed Sutton died instantly after he crashed into a rocky ridge in the Swiss Alps.
Sutton doubled for actor Daniel Craig during the iconic segment at the event last year, parachuting into London's Olympic Stadium from a helicopter, followed by another stuntman dressed as British monarch Queen Elizabeth II.
