Actress Jane Lynch will host the 66th annual Directors Guild of America (DGA) awards.
The 53-year-old says she will be funny but the spotlight will be on the artists and their work.
"I'm an actor, so I don't worry about standing up in front of people. If it were 'The Jane Show' I would be putting all my fear and energy into, say, the opening act, but it's not about me, it's not about my material," variety.com quoted Lynch as saying.
"It's about me being funny a little bit, but mostly it's about the night itself. It's about putting the spotlight on great artists who have done excellent work," she added.
When it comes to engaging her audience, Lynch plans to "keep things moving along and keep a smile on everybody's faces".
"I love directors. I love films. I love the field that I'm in. It's a great honour to be asked to do this. It's a brotherhood and sisterhood of coming together and having fun and I'm so glad I get to be part of the party," Lynch said.
