Indian boxer Mandeep Jangra proceeded to the men's 69 kg Round of 16 after beating Augusto Mathule of Mozambique 3-0 at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) here Friday.
However, Parveen Kumar was knocked out 0-3 of the men's +91 kg category in the Round of 16 by Scottish boxer Ross Henderson.
Coming back to Jangra's match, the Haryana boxer was supreme in all three rounds, winning a staggering 89 of the available 90 points in the bout.
In the first round, Jangra bagged all 30 points available, 10 from each judge, to Mathule's 27, nine from each judge. Indian, with 29 points, got one more in the second round from Mathule and again got a perfect 30 in Round 3 to Mathule's 27.
Earlier, Parveen won 28 points in the first round, one less than Henderson, who was supreme in the second round bagging all 30 to Parveen's 27.
The local pugilist finished off the third and final round with another 30 points from the judges, who gave the Haryana boxer another 27 for the third.
