Japan's tennis star Kei Nishikori on Tuesday said he will go all out to win an Olympic gold medal in Rio de Janeiro in August.
"I'll aim for gold and do whatever I can to win it," Xinhua quoted Nishikori, who retired in the pre-quarterfinals at the Wimbledon with an injury this month.
The World No.6 reached the quarter-finals at the last Olympic Games in London.
"I'm getting better each day," Nishikori said of his injury. "I plan to be playing at the Rogers Cup in Toronto to build up for the Games."
The Rogers Cup will start on July 25.
Nishikori is also eager to play in the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. "It's still four years away so it's hard to say, but I'm really looking forward to it."
