Jayalalitha mourns party man's death, launches Wi-Fi zones

On a day when her party cadres prayed for her speedy recovery and discharge from Apollo Hospital here, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on Friday expressed her grief at the death of AIADMK Party Secretary in Kerala A.L. Pradeep.

In a signed statement issued here, Jayalalithaa said she felt very sad on hearing about the demise of Pradeep.

She also expressed her deep condolences to the family of Pradeep.

Jayalalithaa also announced free Wi-Fi zones branded as Amma Wi-Fi in 50 public places like parks and bus stations.

She also announced setting up of 200,000-sq ft information technology (IT) building at an outlay of Rs 80 crore near here.

 

Jayalalithaa was admitted to Apollo Hospital on Thursday for fever and dehydration.

In a medial bulletin on Friday, Apollo Hospital said Jayalalithaa "has no fever now and is taking normal diet".

It is not known when she will be discharged.
