The Janata Dal-United, which removed Sharad Yadav as its leader in the Rajya Sabha, on Wednesday asked the former party president not to attend RJD chief Lalu Prasad's 'Desh Bachao' (Save the Country) rally in Patna on August 27.
"We would request Sharadji not to attend Lalu's Desh Bachao rally in Patna on August 27," JD-U spokesperson K.C. Tyagi told reporters here.
He also said that the JD-U doesn't want Sharad Yadav to sit in the company of "corrupt leaders".
The JD-U leader said the JD-U was formed on the principles of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, Jayaprakash Narayan, Karpoori Thakur.
"All these leaders throughout their life fought against corruption and dynastic politics," he said.

"If he attends the meeting then it will be against the principles for which he fought for years," Tyagi added.
Lalu Prasad has called a mega rally of opposition parties on August 27 against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Patna.
