JeM says it killed policemen with Hizb

The Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) outfit took joint responsibility along with the Hizbul Mujahideen for the attack in Shopian in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday which killed four policemen.

A caller identifying himself as a spokesman for JeM called a news agency GNS in Srinagar claiming responsibility for the attack.

The spokesman said four policemen were killed in the attack and three weapons of the slain policemen were taken away by the assailants.

He said the attack was carried out jointly by JeM and the Hizbul Mujahideen.

Four policemen attached to a Deputy Superintendent of Police were killed when they were travelling in a vehicle in Arhama area, two kilometers from Shopian town. They were taking the vehicle for repairs.

 

The slain policemen were identified as constables Ishfaq Ahmad Mir, Javaid Ahmad Bhat and Muhammad Iqbal Mir and special police officer Adil Ahmad Bhat.
