A Boeing 777 aircraft crash-landed at San Francisco international airport Saturday in the US state of California. There was no immediate word on casualties.
The aircraft, operated by the South Korean airline Asiana, reportedly had 12 crew and 290 passengers on board. It had taken off from Seoul and was on the runway, with plumes of smoke rising from it, BBC reported.
While the sequence of events remained unclear, it appeared the plane landed and then crashed on San Francisco International Airport's Runway 28, said Laura Brown, the spokeswoman for Federal Aviation Administration.
The Boeing 777 can carry as many as 300 passengers.
