The Congress party is likely to announce the list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand after Holi, since the state is due to go to polls in the last four phases of the seven-phase parliamentary elections.

"The name of the candidates of our party are likely to be announced after the festival of Holi," Kishore Sahdeo, Spokesperson of the Jharkhand unit of Congress, told IANS.

The Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P) are believed to have stitched a grand alliance for the Lok Sabha polls.

A formal announcement in this regard is likely to be made before Holi.

According to informed sources in the Congress, there were some issues with a few seats which have almost been resolved among the grand alliance partners. As per the understanding, the Congress, JMM, JVM-P and the RJD will fight on seven, four, two and one seats, respectively.

The Congress is likely to contest Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Lohardagga, Khunti, Chaibasa, Palamau and one more constituency.

The probable candidate from Ranchi is former Central Minister and senior Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay, and Geeta Koda from Chaibasa.

In the 2014 elections, the Congress had contested in alliance with the JMM and the RJD. The Congress had contested nine seats and lost all.
