The toll in the fire that engulfed an illegal firecracker factory in Jharkhand increased to nine on Monday, police said.
According to the police, rescue operations resumed on Monday morning and two more bodies were recovered. A three storey building had collapsed when the blast took place in a house in East Singhbhum district where an illegal cracker unit was functioning.
Police sources said that a huge amount of explosive powder was stocked in the building, where the blast occurred after it caught fire.
The blast caused a huge fire that soon engulfed other houses also. The injured have been admitted in local hospitals and some were sent to neighbouring West Bengal.
