Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmad Thursday announced assistance of Rs.5 crore to flood-hit Uttarakhand where over 250 people from Jharkhand were reported missing after torrential rains and cloudburst over the weekend left widespread death and destruction
"Jharkhand Governor Syed Ahmad has directed officials to give Rs.5 crore assistance to Uttarakhand government," Principal Secretary to the Governor N.N. Sinha told IANS.
Reports available indicate that 62 people from Jamshedpur, 60 from Bermo of Bokaro, 50 from Dhanbad, and 16 from Ranchi are among those missing since the June 16 floods in Uttarakhand.
