JNU students get support from unions of teachers, students

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students on Friday received messages of support and solidarity from various unions from across the country.

Those who conveyed their support included the South Asian University Faculty Association, National Law University Alumni, students and teachers of NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad, Federation of Central Universities' Teachers' Associations (FEDCUTA), Delhi University Teachers' Association, Ambedkar University Delhi Faculty Association as well as students, faculty and staff of Grinnell College.

Jamia Teachers' Association, Aligarh Muslim University Students, FTII students, students of the University of Chicago, JNU's international alumni, Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, University of Hyderabad, Justice for Rohith Action Committee in Mumbai, students of DU Department of English, Democratic Teachers' Network of Hyderabad, Presidency University Students' Union, Gujarat Central University and various women's organisations too lent their support.

 

Meanwhile, JNU Students Union vice president Shehla Rashid said the JNUSU strongly condemned the harassment of students from Jammu and Kashmir, whose residences were raided by police. "JNUSU also condemns the media trial of a few students," she added.
