The teachers of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on Friday took out a march on the campus to observe the Vigilance Awareness Week as mandated by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) last month.

The agency had earlier announced that an awareness week against corruption would be observed during October 30-November 4. "My Vision-Corruption Free India" was decided as the theme of the week.

"Many teachers and employees carried out a march today (Friday). Earlier, we had conducted a debate and a talk among the employees and students of the university around the topic 'how we can make India corruption free'," JNU Registrar Pramod Kumar told IANS.

The employees also took an "integrity pledge" the content of which was provided by the government, he added.
