HBO's hit fantasy drama series "Game of Thrones" will return with this month sans popular character Jon Snow, according to the official description of the first episode of the sixth season, titled "The Red Woman".

"Jon Snow is dead. Daenerys meets a strong man. Cersei sees her daughter again," reads the description.

Few argue against the notion that Kit Harington's Lord Commander of the Night's Watch is actually dead, but instead hold that he will come back to life.

The notion is only heightened when paired with the episode's title, as many fans believe Melisandre (Carice van Houten) -- very likely the red woman in question -- will be the one who brings Jon back from the dead.

The description also hints at the drama to come in season six, revealing the "bloody fate" of Snow among others.

"Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of season five, including Jon Snow's bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys' near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen and Cersei's public humiliation in the streets of King's Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates," read the description.

"Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south."

Written by showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and directed by Jeremy Podeswa, who previously helmed the fifth and sixth episodes of season five, "Kill the Boy" and "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken", the episode will air on April 26 in India on Star World Premiere HD.
