Former host of "The Daily Show" Jon Stewart is coming out of retirement to produce a series that will be an animated satirical take on cable news.
The animated parody of a cable news network will be for HBO. Network programming president Casey Bloys shared the news at the Television Critics Association press tour here on Saturday, reports nydailynews.com.
Bloys described the new show as "Onion-like, with video and text" in Stewart's own voice.
"It allows him to comment real-time on what's happening during the day's news events. The animation allows him to respond to things very quickly," Bloys said.
The name of the series has not been announced and Bloys hinted it could hit the air by September or October.
