Top seeded Bojana Jovanovski of Serbia will take on unseeded Belarusian Olga Govortsova in the Tashkent Open final being played here at the Olympic Tennis Complex.
In the semi-finals Friday, the World No.58 Jovanovski outclassed 86th ranked Spaniard Maria Teresa Torro-Flor 6-2, 6-2 in just over an hour while the 113rd ranked Belarusian Govortsova won 6-2, 7-5 over World No.132 Mandy Minella of Luxembourg in one hour and 30 minutes.
It will be the first final for Jovanovski, who makes her third appearance here. The Serbian came back from 0-2 down in the first set to take six games on trot, giving away only 10 points to win 6-2.
Jovanovski seeking her first WTA title of the year played strongly from both flanks hitting series of winners to Torro-Flor and wrapped the match 6-2 in the second set.
"It's the first time I played Torro-Flor who has been having a good run at the tournament. It was a difficult start. After two games I started playing well and felt great with my rhythm and strokes. It's a great feeling to be the playing the final," said Jovanovski.
