In a unique "jugalbandi", artists of the transgender community and the mainstream who usually do not get a platform to showcase their talent, will come together for a special exhibition in December.
According to transgender activist Ranjita Sinha, a two-day exposition will be held at a gallery here where an assemblage of photographs, drawings and paintings, hand-made work such as embroidery will be put up.
"The aim is to provide a platform for artists and talented craftsmen from the transgender/hijra community and from mainstream who do not get a chance to display their talent. It is a kind of jugalbandi.
"They will motivate each other and this will help members of the third gender to realise how valuable their contributions are," Sinha told IANS.
Sinha said it is being organised in collaboration with the TG/Hijra community and some mainstream artists.
"The dates are yet to be finalised but it will be held in the month of December," Sinha added.
