Celebrities have been favouring them and the attire has dominated both runway shows and the high street too! Jumpsuits are quite a trend this year.

Clothing line George at Asda has said sales of jumpsuits are at an all-time high, as women across the nation are hailing the all-in-one as the latest wardrobe saviour, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

With sales set to hit the quarter of a million mark this season, George is heralding 2014 "The Year of the Jumpsuit."

Over 100,000 jumpsuits have been sold this July.

With 50 percent of women believing that the jumpsuit "elongates the silhouette", the longline style is a hit for the 82 percent of women who reveal the dress to slim their figures. Thanks to the design, the jumpsuit is banishing the dreaded 'muffin top' which was voted the biggest wardrobe bugbear by two-thirds of shoppers.

This week has seen over 3,000 searches for jumpsuits on online clothing line George.com and the brand has extended its offering to keep up with demand.

The more adventurous styles are proving the most popular, with statement one-shoulder, strapless and vibrant printed designs flying off the shelves as fashion icon Cheryl Cole, Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz inspire shoppers.

Over 60 percent of shoppers surveyed agreed that they are influenced by celebrity wardrobes and will purchase a new item of clothing if they've seen their favourite celebrity wearing something similar.

"The jumpsuit revival is definitely in full swing - this is a trend that's taking George by storm. The jumpsuit is a timeless style that can be dressed up or down, suits every shape and appeals to women of all ages, which is why it's proving so popular," said a spokesperson of George.com.
