Domestic air passenger traffic rose by 19.98 per cent in June to 95.68 lakh from 79.75 lakh reported for the corresponding month of last year, official data showed on Wednesday.
On a sequential basis, total domestic air passenger traffic had risen by 17.36 per cent to 1.01 crore in May.
According to the data furnished by the civil aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), passenger traffic during the January-June period grew by 18.03 per cent.
"Passengers carried by domestic airlines during Jan-Jun 2017 were 561.55 lakhs as against 475.79 lakhs during the corresponding period of previous year thereby registering a growth of 18.03 per cent," the DGCA said in its monthly domestic traffic report.
