Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Thursday sought a report on the functioning of the city's observation homes, two days after 40 inmates escaped from a juvenile home here.
Jung also formed a committee of government officials and Delhi Police and directed them to submit a comprehensive report regarding the functioning of the homes within the next two weeks, said a government statement.
He also directed the officials to submit a plan to improve the management of the observation homes, especially regarding issues of security, infrastructure, and other facilities being extended to the residents of these homes.
Over 40 inmates escaped from a juvenile justice home in Mukherjee Nagar Monday when the security staff were shifting two of them to another home in the city.
They were said to be unhappy with the functioning of the home.
