Three persons were arrested and a juvenile was held on charges of picking the pockets of people commuting by Delhi Metro trains, police said Wednesday.
"Gautam Kumar, Vikram and Babloo were arrested from Anand Vihar Metro station Tuesday, and 68 mobile phones have been recovered from their possession," said Additional Commissioner of Police Ravindra Yadav.
A juvenile, whose identity cannot be disclosed under law, has also been apprehended at the instance of the three adults, from the same area.
Police said the accused belong to Jharkhand, and stayed at a rented accommodation in Delhi.
"They travelled in Metro trains and pinched mobile phones once the trains got crowded. They collected about 50 to 100 mobile phones, then took their consignment to Jharkhand for disposal," Yadav said.
They disclosed that their other associates, Mukesh alias Kale, Sunil, and Rohit, were in Jharkhand.
Jharkhand Police have been intimated of the arrests, so that they could get on the trail of the other accused, the officer said.
