A police officer, who served as security officer to K. Chandrasekhar Rao before he became Telangana chief minister, shot himself with his service revolver here Friday.
Suresh Rao, deputy superintendent of police in the intelligence wing, shot himself at his office in Khairatabad. He was rushed to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) where he was declared brought dead.
Police said they were investigating the reason behind the officer taking the extreme step. Sources said the officer hailing from Karimnagar district was not keeping good health for some time and this was believed to be the reason behind his committing suicide.
