KDX-EPICA to set up electronics manufacturing facility

China-based KangDe Xin Composite Material Company has joined hands with 2D/3D animation company Aries EPICA to set up an electronics manufacturing facility in Telangana for glass-free 3D screens, mobiles, TVs and electronic home appliances, an official statement said on Friday.

An MoU in this regard was signed on Friday by officials of the joint venture and the Telangana government in the presence of state Information Technology Minister K.T. Rama Rao

KangDe Xin (KDX) has successfully developed the most advanced glass-free 3D cell phone, notebook displays and TVs in the world, tweeted Rama Rao, who is also son of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

 

KDX is a publicly-listed company in China with over $1.2 billon revenue in 2015 and over $10 billion market value as of today, while Aries EPICA defines itself as a full-service 2D/3D animation and visual effects studio with offices in India, US, Britain and UAE.

According to a state government statement, a team of both the companies explained about their joint venture investment and expansion plans in Telangana, and appraised about the company portfolio ranging from manufacturing electronic devices to content production for the entertainment industry.

Rama Rao welcomed KDX-EPICA to the state and assured all possible to realise the investment plans in the shortest possible time.

The minister also said that the government has given all permission with a single window system to around 1,700 industries till now. He also informed about the best infrastructure and existing eco system which will help the electronics and entertainment giant to grow bigger and faster as Telangana government will come up with its prestigious gaming city.

Biao Zhang, KDX group vice chairman for 3D displays presented to the minister the company's glass-free 3D screen mobile phone, which showcases their unique technology features.

Recognising Telangana's inherent advantages, including availability of skilled manpower/talent pool, a vibrant technology ecosystem, ease of doing business, state of the art office space availability at various electronic manufacturing clusters and IT Parks/IT SEZs at competitive prices, attractive incentives and subsidies offered under the Electronic Hardware (ESDM) Policy and Policy for Mobile Manufacturers, the participants seek to take this relationship to the new level for the benefit of all, the statement added.
