A Kerala news channel, where an anchor announced a strike in a Live telecast Thursday, has resumed normal operations, a channel official said Friday.

Speaking to IANS, the official of the channel India Vision said it was true that the Live news telecast went off the channel for a few hours Thursday.

"It returned live at 8 p.m. Thursday night and two senior journalists have been asked to keep off till further orders, while a few others have been on leave for the past one week," the official said.

"But all this has not affected our routine operations and things are all fine now."

The 11 a.m. news bulletin Thursday saw anchor K.P. Abhilash announcing that the news department was halting operations to protest the management's negative attitude.

"The management has assured us that all issues would be addressed and we have taken their word. Things are fine now and there are no remaining issues," the official said.

State Minister for Panchayats and Social Justice M.K. Muneer stepped down as chairman of the channel after he became a minister in the Oommen Chandy government.
