Christians across Kerala celebrated Easter on Sunday to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ three days after he was crucified.

The people attended the Easter mass where they drank wine and ate a slice of cake marking the end of Lent.

A traditional Easter breakfast was prepared in Christian households which has dishes like 'appam', chicken stew, beef roast, duck curry, steamed bananas, egg curry and cake.

According to reports, liquor sales peak in Kerala during this period.

Of Kerala's 33.4 million population, Christians account for 61.41 lakhs.
