The Kerala High Court Advocates' Association has passed a resolution expressing "deep concern" over the delay in the proposed elevation of Uttarakhand High Court Chief Justice K.M. Joseph to the Supreme Court.

It has appealed to the Central government to forward to President Ram Nath Kovind the Supreme Court Collegium's recommendation that Joseph be made an apex court judge.

Demanding that he be elevated without any further delay, the Association termed Joseph "a person of impeccable integrity".

As Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court, Joseph came out with a judgment quashing President's rule imposed in Uttarakhand. In May 2016, he was transferred from the Uttarakhand High Court to the High Court of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana but even that has not taken place.

However, the Supreme Court Collegium last month recommended his elevation to the Supreme Court.
