Kerala Tourism's first road show in Tokyo was a huge success, the department said on Tuesday.
It said the Monday event drew 55 leading participants from the Japanese travel and tourism industry.
The road show follows an assurance given by the Japanese government to support Kerala in promoting tourism.
"As the world's third largest economy, Japan is a very important market for us," said Kerala Tourism Minister A.P. Anil Kumar.
Tourist arrivals in Kerala from Japan have witnessed a 25 percent growth in the last five years. A total of 8,785 Japanese tourists visited Kerala last year.
