US Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to the Middle East and Europe for talks on the Iraqi crisis, the State Department said Friday.

He will consult with US partners and allies on measures to support security, stability, and the formation of an inclusive government in Iraq, Xinhua quoted Jen Psaki, State Department spokeswoman, as saying.

During this visit, Kerry will hold consultations in Jordanian capital Amman with Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh before heading to Brussels, the capital of Belgium, to participate in a NATO foreign ministers meeting, Psaki said.

In Paris, he will meet key regional partners and Gulf allies on Middle East security challenges, including Iraq and Syria, she added.

President Barack Obama during a press conference said the US would lead a diplomatic effort to work with Iraqi leaders and the countries in the region to support stability in Iraq.
