Actor Kevin Spacey has been announced as the host of the 2017 Tony Awards.
"I was their second choice for 'Usual Suspects', fourth choice for 'American Beauty' and 15th choice to host this year's Tony Awards," Spacey, the former artistic director of the Old Vic theatre in London, said in a press release, reports eonline.com.
"I think my career is definitely going in the right direction."
The actor, who won a 1991 Tony for his performance in "Lost in Yonkers", also tweeted: "Honoured to host the Tony Awards 2017...fingers crossed all the envelopes are in order."
The nominations for this year's award ceremony will be announced on May 2. The final event will take place on June 11 at Radio City Music Hall here.
